St Julia's Hospice
Cornwall’s hospices, Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell and St Julia’s Hospice in Hayle, The team at Cornwall Hospice Care, St Julia's, are dedicated to providing a range of care and support for people with life-limiting conditions, ensuring that they get the care they need, when they need it, within their local community.

This is the message from Paul Brinsley, chief executive of Cornwall Hospice Care “Providing free end of life care to the community of Cornwall is a privilege, but it’s a precarious one. Just 9.5% of our income is supported by government money through a grant from the NHS Integrated Care Board.  This is in stark contrast to the 30+% received by hospice charities elsewhere in the country and which is the figure being reported at present.“Despite this huge monetary challenge, we’re continuing to keep all 20 of our hospice beds at Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell and St Julia’s Hospice in Hayle, open.  We don’t charge for any of the support we give.”

 Meet Jenny
Mum of two, Jenny Gill was with diagnosed with Signet Cell Cancer in March 2024, which is also known as signet ring cell carcinoma (SRCC). It's a rare, aggressive cancer that can develop in many organs. She was given less than a year to live.

In true Jenny style, she is determined to fight and make the most of her time with us all. So, a year on, with the help of chemotherapy, the love of friends and family and the need of what she calls 'the fire in her belly', Jenny is enjoying all life has to offer. And wants to complete a particular mission.

She wants to raise awareness of this awful cancer, that often goes undiagnosed and undetected. To support the organisations working tirelessly with people who are diagnosed. And to inject this work with hope, joy and fun.

Help us raise vital funds, as we put on a fantastic night with funds raised to to split equally between St Julia's Hospice and The Treliske Research Team. The funding will be specific for reasearch on stomach cancer.
